Two years ago I was in the Peruvian jungle learning about plant wisdoms from the Shipibo Curanderas. While there I re-read his book ‘Secrets of the Talking Jaguar‘. It is filled with beautiful rhythms and nuances as he shares stories about his training and early years as a shaman.

With writing like – “Deep in our bones resides an ancient, singing couple who just won’t give up making their beautiful, wild noise. The world won’t end if we can find them.” He is a delight to read. Healing the Energies of Water and Interacting With The Legendary Taniwha

At the full moon, I was called to interact with an area of coastline and reclaimed swamp that was out of balance and needed attention. I was called to this work by one of my allies in the spiritual world – a Taniwha. (He told me that the waterways were suffering from pollution – from chemical pesticides, sprayed to kill mosquito larvae and too many people living in an area meant for fishing and sea life.) Together we worked to get the energy flowing and create a mantle of protection from the pesticides.

What is a Taniwha?

Taniwha live in the sea, rivers, pools, swamps and underwater caves. They have the ability to shape shift and in the water can appear as sharks, giant squids, or big sea snakes, while on land they can turn into numerous beings including giant lizards or dragons.

These legendary Maori beings are perceived as hostile beings as well as guardians of individuals or tribes. While they were considered dangerous beasts, when treated with respect by humans Taniwha can be their guardians.

From a more spiritual point of view the Taniwha is considered a connection between the human life on earth and the spiritual world of the gods, ancestors and stars. In this way, Taniwha function as a link between common daily life and ancestral heritage.

We have always been taught that the brain is where all of the action is. Yet while the brain does have electrical and magnetic fields, they are both relatively weak compared to the Heart. The Heart is about 100,000 times stronger electrically & up to 5,000 times stronger magnetically than the brain. Knowing this is helpful because the physical world – as we know it – is made of those 2 fields: electrical & magnetic fields of Energy. Physics now tells us that if we can change either the magnetic field or the electrical field of the atom, we literally change that atom and its elements within our body and this world. The human Heart is designed to do BOTH.

Tree Wisdom

Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.

As we approach the Equinox and the energies build increase your awareness. Become AWARE! Take yourself off autopilot and be aware of your thoughts and actions at all times. Focus on clearing out all of the incorrect programming issues you carry within and make open space for the love to enter in and take root. Catch yourself as you judge, as you lie, as you allow yourself to become fearful, and begin to doubt. When you catch yourself stop and acknowledge the slip, forgive yourself and correct whatever it was you were about to do. If we do this enough times it becomes automatic and our lives begin to change for the better.
